چکیده
Background: Allergic conjunctivitis (AC) is a common ophthalmologic disorder that causes symptoms often reduces patient’s quality of life (QOL). We investigated the effects eicosapentaenoic acid metabolite (±)5(6)-dihydroxy-8Z,11Z,14Z,17Z-eicosatetraenoic ((±)5(6)-DiHETE) on AC using mouse model. Methods: BALB/c mice were sensitized with two injections short ragweed pollen in alum, challenged fifth eyedrops. The clinical signs and tear volume evaluated at 15 min after final challenge. Histamine-induced ocular inflammation model was prepared by instilling histamine onto surface eye. Fifteen minutes application, measured Schirmer test. Miles assay performed to investigate vascular permeability. To cause scratching behavior 10 μg serotonin injected cheek. Results: Repeated topical application induced conjunctivitis, accompanied eyelid edema tearing mice. Pollen typically degranulates mast cells recruits eosinophils conjunctiva. Intraperitoneal administration 300 μg/kg (±)5(6)-DiHETE significantly inhibited pollen-induced symptoms. also attenuated cell degranulation eosinophil infiltration into assess downstream pathway activation AC, we used histamine-induced Topical 4 μg/eye caused increased permeability, as indicated Evans blue dye extravasation. or 1 manifestations. Finally, assessed itching. An intradermal injection cheek serotonin-induced scratching. Conclusion: Thus, treatment broadly suppressed pathology could be novel option for AC.

The stereochemistry of the major isomer of 14,15-dihydroxy-5,8,10,12-eicosatetraenoic acid formed from 15-hydroperoxyeicosatetraenoic acid in human leukocytes was determined. The structure (erythro-14(R),15(S]-14,15-dihydroxy-5,8-cis-10,12-trans-eicosatetraenoi c acid) was assigned based on sodium arsenite thin-layer chromatography, NMR spectroscopy, and comparison with material prepared by tot...

experimental allergic encephalomyelitis (eae) is considered as the murine model of multiple sclerosis. daidzein a phytostrogenic compound of soy is known to impose immunomodulatory and antioxidative effects. we conducted this study to assess the potential protective and therapeutic effects of daidzein on allergic encephalomyelitis. c57bl/6 mice were induced with allergic encephalomyelitis ...
متن کاملAllergic conjunctivitis.
The purpose of this research is to study the clinical features and risk factors of various types of allergic conjunctivitis. Four hundred and forty-five patients with a history of itching, foreign body sensation, lacrimation and red eyes were examined, and a skin test was performed and assessed to grade the severity. The mean age of the subjects was 24.5 +/- 16.3 years with female preponderance...

mean hyperemia with CAPT was 2.3 6 0.6 units (between moderate and severe) and with EEC was 1.9 6 0.5 units (approximately moderate); these maxima occurred after 30 minutes with CAPT (rapid spike) and after 180 minutes with EEC (gradual increase). Mean swelling was ,1 unit out of 4 units at all times (CAPT and EEC), and mucous discharge was observed in only 1 subject during the study (with CAPT...
متن کاملAllergic conjunctivitis in Asia
Allergic conjunctivitis (AC), which may be acute or chronic, is associated with rhinitis in 30%-70% of affected individuals, hence the term allergic rhinoconjunctivitis (AR/C). Seasonal and perennial AC is generally milder than the more chronic and persistent atopic and vernal keratoconjunctivitis. Natural allergens like house dust mites (HDM), temperate and subtropical grass and tree pollen ar...
